All of you probably remember the nervousness and excitement you felt during your first technical interview. By volunteering to help out as a mock interviewer, you now have the opportunity to help dozens of junior developers who are in the same situation, and to potentially change their lives!
Each of our developers has completed a rigorous 9+ month software development program where they learned HTML/CSS, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Javascript, React/Redux, and data structures/algorithms. They are all motivated and eager to receive feedback, so if you're interested in contributing to the development of junior developers worldwide by volunteering to support our job searchers with some mock interviews, please read on!
Who We're Looking For
The most important thing we're looking for is a willingness to help students succeed! Our students have devoted themselves to improving their interview skills--if you want to help them, then we want to talk to you!
We're especially looking for mid-to-senior level developers to mock interview our students. Ideally, you will have had at least 3+ years of professional experience in the above languages, and some experience conducting interviews for web developers yourself. If this sounds like you (or if you know someone else who might be interested), then we would love to hear from you!
What Will the Mock Interview Look Like?
Every mock interview is going to be a little different, just like every real interview will be a little different! That being said, mock interviews should ideally last an hour, and should include behavioral questions, technical questions, and coding challenges.
We’re happy to provide sample questions/challenges, but you're welcome to ask your own mix of behavioral and technical questions, too! This is a volunteer opportunity, and a chance for you to help talent from underrepresented locations and groups join the tech industry. Any type of interview you can provide is helpful.

What Happens Next?
We will reach out to you via email to check in with you on your interest in mock interviewing with us and determine what your availability is. Then we will set you up with occasional remote mock interviews with our job seekers who are looking for extra practice while they prepare to for the next stage in their career.
