What is the Microverse Referral Program?

As a part of Microverse's mission to increase access to life-changing global opportunities, the Microverse Referral Program encourages and rewards people for spreading awareness of Microverse's Full-Time program.

The Microverse Referral Program will send you a referral bonus of $150 USD anytime an eligible friend that you recommended to join Microverse's Full-Time program completes the fourth week of our program.

Who is eligible for the Microverse Referral Program?

Any Microverse student or graduate can sign up to be a referrer.

Currently, however, only a specific group of referees count towards the referral bonus.

  • Those who have residence in specific countries in North America, South America, or Europe.* (See full list of countries at the bottom of this page)
  • Women who have residence in any country in the world.

All referees must remain in good standing to count towards the referral bonus. They also must enroll in the full-time program within 90 days of having started the application process.

Why are only certain countries eligible for the Microverse Referral Program?

Microverse is still the only software development school in the world that accepts students regardless of where they're from. With our unique approach, we're lucky to have a diverse student body of full-time students from 85+ countries.

In order for every accepted Microverse student to experience what it's like to be a part of our global, diverse community and to collaborate with people from different backgrounds and cultures, we want to incentivize people to join from countries that may not currently be well-represented in our student body.

If your country is not on the list, it means that your country may already be well represented in the student body or we don't yet have a schedule that fits your country's timezone.

If your country is currently not eligible to receive a referral bonus, that does not mean you can't refer your friends to Microverse. Microverse will always accept students from all around the world and will not charge them anything until they get a job.

How do I participate in the Microverse Referral Program?

In order to participate in the Microverse Referral Program, you must sign up below.

Once you sign up, you will be given a unique link to share with your friends. Make sure they use your link to sign up and indicate that they heard about Microverse through a Friend or where applicable, Microverse Student.

From then on, you will receive two types of emails from us.

  1. Application started (all referrals): you will receive an email anytime a friend uses your link to begin the application process.
  2. Completed Week 4 of the full-time program (only eligible referrals): you will receive an email from us after an eligible* friend has completed Week 4 of Microverse's Full-Time program. This email will include instructions about how to get paid the referral bonus via bank transfer.

How much is the referral bonus?

You will receive $150 USD per eligible student you refer. See the eligibility requirements under "Who is eligible for the Microverse Referral Program?"

I referred a student. When will I receive the referral bonus?

If the student you referred is eligible, you will receive an email after they finish Week 4 of the full-time program in good standing. The email will include instructions for receiving the payment via bank transfer. Please keep in mind our payments team processes payments only twice per month.

Only those eligible will receive a referral bonus. See the eligibility requirements under "Who is eligible for the Microverse Referral Program?"

Microverse has the right to deem if students are in good standing according to the Code of Conduct.

How many friends can I refer?

We have no limit on the number of people you can refer to the program.

I referred a friend to the program. How can I check their status?

Currently, you can see two metrics in your referral dashboard:

  • The number of people that have started the application process using your referral link. This is indicated by "Friends that have applied" at the top left of the referral dashboard.
  • The number of eligible people that have gone on to complete Week 4 of Microverse's full-time program. This is indicated under the rewards tab by a small icon on the reward description.

You can see examples of both metrics here. Note: in this example, the person has referred one eligible friend who has applied and has been accepted and completed Week 4 in the full-time program.

In order to view your referral dashboard, please visit the link below.

If you are not using the same browser you used to apply for the program or you encounter a signup screen, enter the same email you used to apply to the referral program to access your dashboard.

Can I see more details about the current status of the friends I refer?

Currently, there is no automated way to see additional information about the status of friends that you refer besides the above metrics.

If you'd like to know more about your friend's status, we encourage you to reach out to them directly and support them in the application process and in the first few weeks of the program.

I told a friend about the program, but I didn't know about the referral program. Can I still get the referral bonus?

In order to receive the referral bonus, you must sign up for our referral program and your friend must use your unique referral link when they submit their initial application.

What can I do with my referral link?

You can share your referral link on social media, send your friend it over SMS/WhatsApp/email, or post it when you're talking about Microverse online, such as in a blog post, forum, or reddit thread.

While you can do a lot with your referral link, we prohibit falsely claiming or giving off the impression of being a Microverse employee, partner, or representative.

There's a problem with my referral link. What should I do?

Please email [email protected] with the subject "Microverse Referral" and include your first name, last name, country, and an explanation of the issue.
