On average, students take approximately 9 months to complete our *Full-time Program, and an extra 2-4 months to complete their job search. However, because we follow the mastery learning methodology, the length of your student journey at Microverse will vary.

We believe of utmost importance is you learning the material and knowing it really well, rather than giving you strict deadlines to complete our Program. This means that, compared to traditional learning models, sufficient time, attention, and help are afforded to each of you. You can take as long as you and your coding partner need to complete our Program!

While there are no deadlines for each course, we understand you may be thinking about finances or concerned you are not at the exact same pace as your peers. But remember, you all are coming into the program with different backgrounds. There may be some courses that are easier and quicker for you than your peers, and also some that are more difficult and slower for you. It is not a race against your peers! It is about you mastering every single topic.

That being said, here is the typical progression of one of our students moving at an average pace:

Week 1-4 - HTML & CSS3
Week 5-7 - Ruby
Week 8 - Databases
Week 9-17 - Ruby on Rails
Week 18 - Week Break
Week 19-22 - JavaScript
Week 23-25 - React/Redux
Week 26-29 - Career Prep
Week 30+ Job Search**
(**on average it takes our students 2-4 months to secure a job).

Although this is a typical student at Microverse, please always remember that we are here for you and will continue to be with you every step of the way throughout your personal journey, no matter how long it takes. We are passionate about our mission to support you until you learn what you need to know to secure a job as a software developer.

The main takeaway is this: Because of mastery learning, you should only worry about one thing: putting in at least eight hours a day of intense and focused work. As long as you do that, you won’t “fall behind” your estimated completion date significantly.

*The Full-Time Program requires a full-time commitment from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm UTC-6/UTC+1.
